The IFDS Chartwell Open-Ended Investment Company (OEIC) is structured as an umbrella company with three sub-funds; The IFDS Chartwell Balanced Income Fund, The IFDS Chartwell Cautious Fund & The IFDS Chartwell Strategic Growth Fund.

IFDS Chartwell Balanced Income Fund

The Balanced Income Fund aims to provide a high level of growing income (target yield of 5% gross) together with capital growth by investing in a balanced and diversified portfolio of UK and international equities, fixed interest securities and commercial property. Investment will also be made into regulated collective investment schemes, money markets instruments, cash deposits and alternative assets to further diversify the fund.

IFDS Chartwell Cautious Fund

The Cautious Growth Fund aims to provide steady returns over the medium to longer term by investing in a balanced and diversified portfolio of asset classes. The Fund aims to deliver a return which is greater than the return provided by cash over the medium to longer term whilst maintaining a cautious approach to risk. On 01 June 2009 an Income share class was introduced to sit alongside the existing Accumulation share class. This allows those shareholders who require a regular income to enjoy monthly distributions. Shareholders can switch between Accumulation shares and Income shares at no cost.

IFDS Strategic Growth Fund

The Strategic Growth Fund’s investment objective is to generate long term capital growth, whilst controlling risk and volatility from a globally diversified portfolio of asset classes. Although the fund is not targeted against a specific benchmark, the fund aims to deliver a return that is greater than cash over the medium to long term.
